You know when something is so creepy it circles back around to being adorable I swear that is exactly what these Spider Egg Sac Marshmallow Treats are.
They look like they crawled straight out of a haunted kitchen but taste like sweet gooey comfort food.

Takes less than half an hour but people will think you went full mad scientist in the kitchen.

How I Make Them
I always set everything out first because once those marshmallows melt things move fast.
In a big saucepan I melt the butter on low then throw in the marshmallows and stir like crazy till it is smooth and glossy.

I add vanilla and a couple drops of food coloring if I am feeling dramatic.

Then I dump in the rice cereal and stir till everything is coated. It is sticky chaos but in a satisfying way.

To shape them into egg sacs I grease my hands like I am about to wrestle a buttered octopus.

I grab a scoop of the warm mixture about a third cup press a few gummies in the middle and smush it into a ball.

Now it officially looks like something you should not eat which means it is perfect. I line them up on parchment like a creepy little army.

For the webs I melt white chocolate with a tiny bit of oil in the microwave in short bursts so it does not burn.

Once it is smooth I pour it into a plastic bag and snip a corner. Then I go wild drizzling messy zigzags all over the sacs.

They do not need to look neat. Messy is better honestly. While the chocolate is still wet I stick on candy eyes so they look alive.
If I am feeling theatrical I add licorice legs poking out the sides.

I chill them for like fifteen minutes so the chocolate sets. After that they are ready to freak people out.
Serving Them
I pile them on a dark tray and throw some fake cobwebs around so the whole setup looks like a nest. Kids scream adults laugh and everybody eats them anyway.
The best part is when someone bites in and finds gummy eggs inside like excuse me what.
Pair them with apple cider or some kind of neon punch and you have a whole spooky moment.
Leftovers and Tips
They stay chewy at room temp for about five days. If it is humid I stick them in the fridge but let them come back to room temp before serving or you will break a tooth.
I would not freeze them because gummies get weird. Honestly they barely last twenty four hours anyway.
Little advice grease your hands more than you think you need soft gummies work better than hard ones and if you have kids let them help with the eyeballs.
That part is pure chaos in the cutest way.
